If you sign in. Signing in goes through Google. Google returns your account identifier, email address, display name, and profile picture, and the site stores them so one account keeps one vote per person across visits. Your Google password is never seen by this site.

When you vote. A vote records the person, the side you picked, and the source link you optionally attached. It also stores a one-way hash of your IP address, salted with a secret held only on the server. The address itself is never written down, the hash cannot be turned back into it, and it is never used to block anyone automatically.

When you request someone. A request records the person you picked from Wikidata and, if you wrote one, a short note. That note is read only by the editorial desk and is never published.

Text you submit never appears on the public site — not under your name, not anonymously, not in aggregate. A link attached to a vote is a research lead, not a submission: the desk reads the source itself and writes any resulting entry from the original material. Your name and email are never shown next to anything.

• No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no third-party trackers of any kind
• No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data
• No marketing email — signing in subscribes you to nothing
• No storage of raw IP addresses

Two, both strictly functional. A session cookie set when you sign in, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days and cannot be read by JavaScript; and a short-lived cookie used during the sign-in redirect that expires within ten minutes. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. The bot check shown before voting may set storage of its own.

• Google — sign-in only.
• Cloudflare— hosting, database, and the bot check. Traffic reaches the site through Cloudflare's network, so it processes connection data including your IP address in order to serve the page.
• Wikimedia — the request form searches Wikidata from your browser, so Wikimedia sees your IP address while you use that form and at no other time.

Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.

An automated model re-reads each public figure's recorded statements daily and proposes a position for them. It works on published statements and vote totals. It processes no personal data about you and makes no decision about you.

Write to redblue.who.they.are@gmail.com and your account, your votes, and your requests will be deleted, with a confirmation once it is done. You can also ask what is held about you, or ask for a correction. Signing out on its own only clears the cookie; it leaves your account in place so your votes survive.

The site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date below changes with it.
